Visibility of the world is under the eye so, it is the important sense organ of our body. In this 21st century, people are using mobile phones, computers, television for a long period of time. People are eating junk food, oily food. They are bringing new diseases day by day. Now talking about our eyes let's talk about 
The most common problem of the eye. 
  1. Refractive error
  2. Conjunctivitis
  3. Cataract
  4. Glaucoma
  5. Diabetic Retinopathy
  6. Dry Eye

Refractive error 

Refractive error is the most common problem for many people. There are three types of refractive error include
  • Hypermetropia: It is long-sightedness 
  • Myopia: It is short-sightedness
  • Astigmatism
The inability to focus the image on the retina is due to blurred vision. It is also a serious problem for the eye if it is not treated on time. This disease can also lead to blindness. It can be treated by eyeglasses, contact lenses, or in some cases Surgery. 

Conjunctivitis

Any inflammation of the conjunctiva is known as conjunctivitis. There are different types of conjunctivitis such as Bacterial, Viral, Fungal conjunctivitis, etc. Foreign body sensation, photophobia, discharge, blurring of vision may are the symptoms of conjunctivitis

Prevention for this disease are:

  • Washing hand often
  • Should not touch your eye
  • Do not share your personal belonging
It is a communicable disease so, be careful if you are suffering from this disease be safe, take a regular check-up, use sunglasses to protect your eye.

Cataract

Any opacity on the lens or its capsule is known as a cataract. It is also a most common eye problem. It is a leading cause of blindness. A cataract is two types 
  • Congenital cataract
  • Acquired Cataract
It can occur at any age. It can permanently be treated by surgery only. Refraction is the temporary solution for cataracts. Clouded or dim vision, Double vision in a single eye, Seeing halos around light are the symptoms of cataracts. The factor that increases the risk of cataract are:
  1. Increasing age
  2. Diabetes
  3. Smoking
  4. High blood pressure
  5. Exposure to sunlight
  6. Drinking Alcohol 

Glaucoma

The term to describe a group of the disease of the eye characterized by progressive and irreversible damage of the optic nerve, increase in IOP, and visual field defect.
Mostly Over 60 years old people are caused by Glaucoma. This disease cannot be treated permanently.

Symptoms

  • Mild headache 
  • Eye ache
  • Difficulty in reading and doing close work
  • Significant loss of vision
It can be caused by Diabetes, High blood pressure, Myopic eye, high IOP, etc.

Dry Eye

The condition occurs when your tears are not able to provide adequate lubrication for your eyes. If your eye doesn't produce enough tears or poor quality tears.

Symptoms

  • Feeling uncomfortable
  • Red-eye
  • Itching
  • Sensitivity to light
  • Blurred vision etc
  • Dry eye can be caused by the different reason that disrupts the healthy tear film. The tear film has three-layer: 
  • Fatty oils
  • Aqueous fluid
  • Mucus
This keeps the surface of the eye lubricated, smooth, and clear. If you have a problem with any of these layers can cause dry eyes.

Prevention

  • Stop watching television, laptop, computer, mobile phone, etc for a long period of time.
  • Use sunglasses for outdoor 
  • Stop smoking
  • Use artificial tears
  • Take the rest of your eyes.
