Coronavirus eye symptoms | Second Wave coronavirus

  

It's being more than 1 year that the whole world is suffering from Covid-19. The pace of  covid-19 infection is rapidly increasing day by day. Coronavirus does not spread the same symptoms for all patients. Covid Patients are facing different new symptoms mostly in the second wave of coronavirus. 

Now talking about the second wave of covid-19. It is being stronger than the first wave. This second wave covid-19 disease has symptoms, from mild and moderate to severe. 

Symptoms Of Coronavirus

  • Fever
  • Dry cough
  • Tiredness
  • Diarrhea
  • Headache
  • Conjunctivitis
  • Loss of test and smell

Serious Symptoms

  • Difficulty in breathing or shortness of breath
  • Paining of chest 

Coronavirus eye Symptoms of the second wave

Based on data, about 1%-3% of covid-19 patients will get the problem of the eye called Conjunctivitis. It is due to when the virus infects a tissue known as Conjunctiva that covers the white part of our eye. Symptoms that are seen in covid-19 patients are:

  1. Redness of eye
  2. Itching
  3. Blur of vision
  4. Swollen
  5. Discharge 
If you have the same conjunctivitis symptoms, it does not necessarily mean that you are suffering from coronavirus. It may be seasonal allergies or maybe irritation (foreign body sensation) that can also lead to conjunctivitis. But if you also have other symptoms of covid-19 like fever, dry cough, loss of smell, then you have to be aware. Now, first of all, you have to contact a hospital or clinic near to you if it is safe to visit do a PCR test to be confirmed. If a test is positive you have to be aware of covid-19.  

How the infection spreads

This new coronavirus is called SARS-coV-2. 
We all know that it is a communicable disease. But how it is transferred from one to another. Normally if you are suffering from Covid-19 you may obviously have a cough or sneezing. And if you cough or sneeze you will release a chemical called Histamine or Leukotrienes. So, if it is entered into others mouth, nose, eye it may be transferred to another. 

But in the case of an eye, it can be transferred by the chemical called mucous. If you rub your eye and if you touch things surrounding you without washing your hand it may spread. And if other use your personal belonging like towel, pillow, eye drops, etc. It is necessary not to use other personal belonging. It will be best to avoid touching your face without washing your hand. 

Seeing your Doctor

If you notice the same symptoms in your eye, especially if you have other diseases such as 
Immediately contact your doctor, if you have covid-19 symptoms or if you had contact with sick people. Or if you have any other diseases in your body like 
  1. Diabetes
  2. Hypertension
  3. Thyroid
  4. Asthma
  5. HIV, etc
If you are suffering from these diseases then it may be very difficult to recover from coronavirus. Because you are already suffering from a disease that cannot be treated permanently, which makes you weaker, and if you are taking the medication regularly then it may be difficult to recover fast. But it doesn't mean that you won't be recover. It takes time you will be recover.

How to Protect your eye

It is seen that washing your hand after touching anything can protect you. Stay home if you are out don't forget to wear a mask, eyeglass, stay at 6 feet distance from other people. 
  • Wear glasses: Wearing your lens glasses may protect you from any respiratory droplets or if you don't use them then it is better to wear sunglasses regularly when you are out.
  • Do not use other personal belonging: It will be safe not to use other things especially when you are out. 
  • Don't rub your eyes: As you know rubbing your eye is the reason how eye infections are spread. If you feel itchy in your eye use eye drop.
  • Cold Inflammation: Best medicine for conjunctivitis is taking cold inflammation. Take a cube of ice and apply it to your eye after closing your eye. It will compress your swelling and relief you from itching.
Be safe, stay home, wash your hand regularly.
